What You’ll Make
The advanced-beginner-friendly uses the moss stitch, so all you have to know is how to chain and single crochet. AND Because of the way the stripes alternate between three colors each round, there are very few ends to weave in! Choose from a 2”, 4”, 6” cover—or make them all!

Helpful Notes
- The special stitch used in this pattern is the Moss Stitch, which is essentially chaining 1 and working a sc in the ch 1 space of the previous row.
- Each color change happens at the end of the round. Instead of fastening off at each color change, I prefer to drop the yarn on the inside (WS) of the pot and pick it back up after the next 2 rounds are worked.
- The size of the pot refers to the diameter at the top. The base of my sample pots were approximately 1” smaller than the top.
-
If you prefer to make a different size:
- Wider/Skinnier pot: Add/subtract increase rounds at the base
- Taller/shorter pot: Add/subtract rounds up the sides
- Test for fit after completing each section (the base, body, and rim). Add/subtract rounds at each section when needed
- I reused a plastic sour cream container lid and placed it inside my plant pot cover before adding the plant for it to catch excess water and not ruin the cover.
