Tis the season for mindless-makes! Isn't that the way the song goes? Lol! This striped lapghan is a mindless make to keep you cozy and warm as you sit and binge Christmas movies this holiday season. 

What You’ll Make

This  36” x 48” lap blanket uses the Moss Stitch, so all you have to know is how to chain and single crochet. Because of the way the blanket alternates between three colors each row, there are very few ends to weave in! This beginner-friendly pattern would make an ideal first blanket to crochet!

Approx 915 yards of one color (this one will make up the border as well) and 590 yards each of two other colors

J/6 mm crochet hook

19 moss stitches x 18 rows in 4″x4” square

Helpful Notes

• The special stitch used in this pattern is the Moss Stitch, which is essentially chaining 1 and working a sc in the ch 1 space of the previous row.
• Each color change happens at the end of the row. Instead of fastening off at each color change, I prefer to drop the yarn and pick it back up after the next 2 rows are worked. The extra yarn will be covered up by the border.
• If you prefer to make a different size, simply chain an even number of stitches then work the pattern as written.
• Work more or less rows if you'd like your blanket longer or shorter.
